Marketing and Sales
As part of
the publication package, Melrose Books will formulate a strategy
to promote and market your book. The aim of this is to raise the
profile of your book and generate sales and this work begins well before
publication. The book will be promoted in conjunction with yourself
and suggestions and ideas are encouraged. We will identify your
target readership and liaise with the you on this. All marketing
and promotion work is provided at no extra cost.
Sales to Booksellers
Melrose Books will promote your book to booksellers through major
book wholesalers such as Gardners, ensuring maximum availability
and coverage. (In the United States, your book will be distributed
through our American outlet as required.)
Direct Sales
Your book will be available direct to customers from our headquarters
via telephone, mail order or trade website. The Melrose Books trade website will also provide detailed background
information on your book. At the request
of the author, we can arrange for the direct mailing of promotional
material announcing the publication of your book. This targeted
method of selling typically yields higher sales than other methods.

Media
Central to our book promotion strategy is the advancement of media
coverage of the publication and author. We will submit press releases to
media outlets in advance of publication to stimulate media interest
in your book. Press releases will be followed-up with correspondence
to newspaper and magazine journalists encouraging book reviews,
features, author interviews and other articles. Review copies of
the book can be sent to the most relevent publications.
Broadcast
Media
Melrose Books will send press releases to relevant national television
and radio stations to encourage coverage of the book and author
in the form of reviews, features, author profiles and interviews.
Melrose Books will keep a record of all activity in the media regarding
your book and keep the author in touch with new developments as
they occur.

Melrose Books will use our contacts to correspond with major booksellers
to encourage them to stock your book. We can also arrange signing
sessions and interviews.
